Walking/Balancing after stroke

I walk as much as I can, using a walking stick recommended by my therapist. I make sure not to push myself too hard to avoid causing other complications. However, some days, I do walk longer distances to challenge myself. Each time I am out for a walk, I make sure I have water with me to drink and take rests along the way to minimise fatigue.
Stroke affects individuals differently, and what has worked for me may not work for another person. But whatever the case, never lose hope. Whatever is manageable, considering your strength, please make sure you do it safely.
I have not fully regained my balance after a stroke, but I keep doing the exercises my therapists left for me to keep doing whenever I feel like I need to do them. I also do a 10 minute home workout taught by Jessica Valant Pilates, a physical therapist and Pilates instructor. Each time I do it, I feel my legs strengthened and my balance improving. All she wants one to use doing the exercises, is a chair or counter. If struggling with balance, please visit her website; http://www.jessicavalantpilates.com/u...
